Ask The World Radio Battleship Rules
These rules govern free community Radio Battleship sessions coordinated through Poclink Group 913452.
1. Session setup
The host announces the session time and any additional details through the Ask The World calendar or another clearly identified channel. The standard release uses a 10 by 10 grid, five ships occupying 17 total cells, and algorithm ATW-BATTLESHIP-1.
2. Fleet generation and registration
Each player generates one fleet using the official player tool. The browser assigns a four-digit Fleet Seed and places the Carrier, Battleship, Cruiser, Submarine, and Destroyer deterministically from that seed.
The player must provide the host with the recognizable radio name and Fleet Seed before registration closes. Only Fleet Seeds contained in the host's locked registration list are eligible for elimination verification.
3. Global coordinate calls
The host calls one coordinate to all players, using A1 through J10 or the equivalent spoken form, such as Echo-4. Players mark the same coordinate on their own grids. The host's saved call history is the authoritative record.
4. Hits, misses, and sunk ships
The player tool determines whether each called coordinate is open water or part of the player's deterministic fleet. A ship is sunk when every cell occupied by that ship has been called. A fleet is eliminated when all 17 occupied cells across all five ships have been called.
5. Elimination claims
When the final ship sinks, the player must promptly announce the registered radio name and Fleet Seed. The host reconstructs the fleet from the registered seed and compares it with the official call history. Player markings, screenshots, or verbal descriptions are not authoritative.
6. Fair play
Players may not generate replacement fleets after registration closes, use more than one Fleet Seed unless expressly permitted, register another person's fleet without authorization, alter the player tool, or falsely report elimination. The host may disqualify a player for manipulation, impersonation, deliberate interference, or another material violation.
7. Technical interruptions
Poclink, cellular networks, Wi-Fi, browsers, radios, and participant devices may experience delay or failure. The host may pause, resume, reschedule, restart, or cancel a session when a technical problem materially affects fairness or verification.
8. Privacy
A player's radio name, Fleet Seed, registration status, and elimination status may be announced over Poclink or displayed while administering the game. Players should not submit sensitive personal information.
9. Platform disclaimer
Ask The World is an independent, member-run community. Radio Battleship is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Poclink, Facebook or Meta, Bluehost, Google, any radio manufacturer, or any cellular carrier.
10. Interpretation
The host's reasonable verification decision is final for the community activity. Changes needed for fairness, security, operations, or legal requirements should be announced before registration closes whenever practical.
